Competencies - What are competencies?

Competencies are behavioural-type skills that we accumulate through work and life in general. Why are these important in the recruitment or procurement process? Well, these skills come with an incredibly high value, because we can adapt to use them in any environment or situation.

When internalised by us in the right way, they are highly transferable. Below, you’ll see some general ‘typical competencies’ that you may see as a requirement within a job specification.

So, how do we relate these competencies to job applications?

The key here to capitalise on your competencies is to capture specific examples of where you have demonstrated these skills. Of course, this is something I can help you with through The Competency-based Interview Preparation Course, a service that will help you to understand how to do this properly and thoroughly, boosting your confidence to talk through examples that cover multiple competencies.
